The School Resource Division is assigned to the Talladega County Public School System and to the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind in order to provide law enforcement services such as crime prevention, criminal investigation, and the prevention of juvenile delinquency. The goals of the School Resource Deputy are accomplished through close interaction with students and school personnel.
The School Resource Division formulates educational crime prevention programs in order to reduce the opportunity for crimes against persons and property in schools, participates in the Parent-Teacher Association meetings as requested, participates in campus activites, student organizations and athletic events when invited and feasible, and counsels public school students in special situations when requested by the principal or by the parents of the students.
